In late January, residents started moving into their new apartments at Casa Esperanza at 1818 El Camino Real in Redwood City. All 52 apartments are fully furnished with beds, desks, cabinets and kitchenettes. Alta Housing is managing the property and Mental Health Associates (MHA) of San Mateo County will be providing supportive services. Thank you to the State of California’s Homekey program and San Mateo County for creating these new homes for some of our most vulnerable community members.

It was wonderful to gather in person to celebrate the Grand Opening of Luna Vista Apartments. We were honored to have Congresswoman Eshoo and Mountain View Mayor Ramirez join us to celebrate the addition of 71 new affordable homes to our community.
Alta Housing and Mental Health Associates were chosen to manage and provide services for Redwood City’s second HomeKey project at 1818 El Camino Real. San Mateo County was awarded a $16 million grant to purchase a motel and convert it into permanent supportive housing. The money will go toward the purchase, renovation and operation of the 51-room Comfort Inn & Suites at 1818 El Camino Real . On-site services will include education, employment and mental health counseling.
