La Bella, Mountain View

La Bella will transform a former industrial site at 1020 Terra Bella Avenue into 108 new homes for families in need of stable, affordable housing near transit and jobs. We will break ground in the Fall.

Thanks to a generous donation of over half an acre from Public Storage, the project moved forward at a larger scale than initially envisioned, effectively doubling the number of affordable homes delivered while improving the overall design.

Of the 108 apartments, more than half will serve extremely low-income households. Twenty-seven homes will support Rapid Rehousing for individuals and families exiting homelessness, ten apartments for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and an additional twenty-three Project-Based Section 8 Vouchers set aside for families to ensure long-term stability.

The six-story, all-electric building will include community spaces, a landscaped courtyard with play areas and garden beds, on-site resident services, bicycle parking and repair facility, rooftop solar, and energy-efficient systems — reducing long-term costs while supporting climate goals.

With financial support from the City of Mountain View, the County of Santa Clara Office of Supportive Housing and Housing Authority, and  Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, La Bella reflects Alta Housing’s continued commitment to creating stable, service-enriched housing that strengthens families and communities.
